Quick Start

Welcome to Doti — your DIY knowledge agents platform. This guide walks you through the essential steps to set up Doti for your organization and start delivering value within minutes.

1. Log In to the Portal & Invite Your Team

Start by logging into the Doti Portal: https://portal.doti.ai

  • Go to the Users page

  • Invite key team members (admins, agent creators, early testers)

  • Assign appropriate roles (Admin, Agent Creator, Viewer, or Content Reader/Writer)

🔐 Note: New users interacting via Slack, the Extension, or Portal will go through an approval flow - Doti admins will be notified to approve or reject each request.

2. Connect Slack (If Applicable)

Navigate to the Integrations page and connect Slack to your workspace.

  • Authorize via OAuth

  • Once connected, you’ll be able to:

    • Use /doti sync to initiate knowledge ingestion from slack chosen slack channels

    • Enable Autopilot in Slack channels to trigger real-time answers

💬 Slack is a core interface for Doti - it powers real-time support, feedback loops, and agent engagement.

3. Connect Your Knowledge Tools

In the Integrations tab, connect relevant systems like:

  • Google Drive

  • Confluence

  • Salesforce

  • Jira

  • Notion

  • Zendesk

  • Gong

Specific integration requirements and installation guides can be found in - Conneting Integrations

⚠️ Important: Data ingestion may take time depending on source size and API rate limits. Check status on the Integrations page and allow some time for data to be fully indexed.

4. Create the Default Agent & Other Use-Case Agents

Every Doti workspace includes a Default Agent - this is the public, organization-wide agent available to all users (subject to source permissions).

  • This agent serves as the baseline assistant across Slack, the Portal, and the Chrome Extension.

  • Ensure the Default Agent is configured with sensible instructions and connected to general-use collections.

Then, create specialized agents to serve specific teams or functions:

  • Customer Preparation Agent

  • Weekly Digest Agent

  • Debugging or Triage Agent

  • Marketing & GTM Assistants

✍️ Use rich instructions to control tone, data prioritization, and reasoning workflows. Agents can operate sequentially, synthesize from multiple tools, and generate formatted outputs.

5. Share the Chrome Extension

Empower your browser-first users!

  • Have them install the Doti Chrome Extension from the Extension Store

  • Works across Gmail, Google Docs, Notion, Salesforce, etc.

  • Highlight text → Trigger actions like Search, Memo, Translate, or open a full SidePanel chat

📌 Pin the extension for quick access and use Cmd/Ctrl + Shift + P to open it anytime.

6. Launch Autopilot (with Testbed)

Doti Autopilot listens to Slack channels and responds automatically when it has a high-confidence answer - no need to tag it.

To test this safely:

Start with high-signal channels like #gtm, #support, or #product.

🤷🏻‍♀️ Don’t worry - if Doti can't answer a question, it won’t spam. It will quietly react with a 🤷🏻‍♀️ emoji to show it tried.

You’re Ready to Go

By completing these steps, you’ve:

  • Set up user access

  • Connected your tools and data

  • Activated agents for knowledge reasoning

  • Equipped your team with in-browser and in-chat workflows

  • Deployed a safe, testable version of automation

🧠 Remember: Syncing can take a little time - allow for ingestion and check integration statuses before expecting full responses.
