Overview & Installation

The Doti Chrome Extension brings the full power of Doti right into your browser - making it incredibly easy to search, act, and save knowledge while you work.

Whether you're in Salesforce, Google Docs, Notion, or any other web-based tool, Doti is now just a highlight away.

πŸ’‘ Compatible with any Chromium-based browser (Chrome, Edge, Brave, etc.)

Why Use the Extension?

Some teams (Finance, GTM, Sales, Legal) live in the browser far more than they do in Slack. For those users, Doti’s extension offers:

  • Always-on access, pinned to your browser

  • On-demand AI assistance, context-aware

  • A lightweight but powerful interface for working with agents, knowledge, and tasks - no Slack required

Two Interfaces: Modal + SidePanel

The extension offers two distinct but connected experiences:

1. Modal (Floating Contextual Menu)

  • How it works: Appears when you highlight any text on a webpage

  • Actions available:

    • πŸ” Search with Doti

    • πŸ“ Save as Memo

    • πŸ—£ Translate

    • 🧠 Summarize

    • ✏️ Rephrase

  • Sticky behavior:

    • Can either stick next to your highlighted text

    • Or stay fixed to the right edge of the screen (configurable in settings)

  • Trigger behavior: Clicking any action will launch the SidePanel to complete the task

⚑ Great for in-the-flow knowledge capture or just-in-time support.

2. SidePanel (Full Doti Experience)

  • How to open:

    • Triggered automatically from the Modal

    • Or launch manually using Cmd/Ctrl + Shift + P and/or by clicking Doti icon in the browser toolbar.

  • What you can do:

    • Interact with your Agents

    • Ask questions and search across sources

    • Create or modify Dots

    • Perform all AI-enhanced actions (Summarize, Search, Draft, etc.)

  • What If the Keyboard Shortcut Doesn’t Work?

    • If Cmd/Ctrl + Shift + P isn’t triggering the Doti SidePanel, you can manually configure the shortcut:

      • Go to chrome://extensions/shortcuts in your browser

      • Locate Doti - AI Assistant

      • Set or customize the β€œOpen SidePanel” shortcut

Switching between agents is instant - just use the agent selection pane to choose the best AI for the task at hand.

🧠 The SidePanel is a full-featured Doti window that gives you everything you’d expect from Slack - and more.
