Doti provides flexible user roles and access controls to ensure that every team member can use Doti safely and productively, while allowing admins to manage permissions at scale.

Whether you’re managing a small team or deploying across an entire company, Doti makes it easy to configure the right access - with full auditability and admin controls.


User Roles in Doti

Role
Access Capabilities

Admin

Full access to all portal features. Can create/edit agents, manage users, configure integrations, modify settings

Agent Creator

Can view the full Admin Portal but only edit agents they’ve created themselves

Viewer

Read-only access to the full Admin Portal — no editing rights

Content Reader/Writer

Default Doti user. Can use Slack, Extension, and access the Chat, Agents, and Dots sections in the portal

🧠 You can mix and match roles based on use cases - e.g., a Support Lead might be an Agent Creator, while a team lead may be a Viewer.


User Registration & Access Flow

There are two ways users can join Doti:

1. Admin-Initiated Invite

Admins can proactively add users via the Users page in the Portal:

  • Click “Invite User”

  • Set role and optional team or agent scopes

  • The user will receive a Slack/email invite to activate their access


2. Automated Access Request Flow

When a new user first interacts with Doti - via:

  • Slack

  • Chrome Extension

  • Web Portal

...Doti triggers a self-registration flow:

  1. The user receives a welcome message (via Slack or email)

  2. They click “Request Access”

  3. All Doti admins receive a notification

  4. Admins can approve or reject the user request in the Portal

🚦 No user can gain access until explicitly approved by an admin.

Managing Users

You can manage users from the Users tab in the Admin Portal:

  • View all registered users

  • Approve or reject pending access requests

  • Update user roles

  • Revoke access

  • See last activity
