Web Search

Doti is designed to bring the best of both worlds - your secure internal knowledge and the vast context of the web - into a single, intelligent interface.

With web search capabilities, Doti can combine internal system queries with real-time, external information for deeply contextual, real-world answers.

By combining internal data with live web results, you can ask high-value, hybrid questions like:

“What is our current opportunity with customer X, and were there any recent important news from this company that I should be aware of?”

Doti will:

  • Pull CRM data and opportunity details from systems like Salesforce

  • Search Slack or Confluence for internal discussions

  • Scan the web for real-time news and insights

  • Merge it all into one coherent answer

Web Search Configuration

Web search is disabled by default, but can be selectively enabled in a few ways:

1. Agent-Level Web Access

Admins can enable web search for specific agents. This allows use-case-specific bots (like research agents or sales prep assistants) to tap into web content.

🧠 Example: A Customer Prep Agent might have web search enabled to gather news about a prospect, while a Legal Agent stays internal-only.

2. Global Default Doti Access

The “Default” Doti (the one you get when no agent is selected) and the Doti Supervisor can also be configured to use the web. This is managed centrally by the admin team.

⚠️ The global setting can be OFF while some agents still have web access. They are controlled independently.
